These community screenings and youth panels bring together foster youth, professionals, policy makers and community members to talk about issues facing youth in care and how we can improve outcomes. You can download a free pdf of the facilitators guide here. To organize a Community Forum contact Matt Anderson at matt@porchproductions.net.

Dear Senator << SENATOR'S NAME HERE >>,
I am contacting you as a constituent concerned about America’s foster care system. My tax dollars are funding a system that costs of $8 Billion every year, but far too often fails to meet the needs of children and families. The children living in our foster care system are all of our children. I believe it is our civic duty and moral responsibility to make sure that we do the very best we can to take care of our children. Right now we are falling short.
I am asking you to join the Senate Caucus on Foster Youth and support the efforts of Caucus Co-Chairs Senator Charles Grassley (R-IA) and Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA). I am also asking you to support the legislative reform options outlined in the Caucus’ Call to Action. These proposals will address an array of solutions, including the urgent need for federal financing reform. It is time to make sure that the services purchased with my tax dollars lead to the best possible outcomes for kids in foster care.
I believe that how we care for America’s most vulnerable children really defines the strength of our country. Your support will make a difference.
Thank you.
